Abstract. Cluster analysis based on Glu score was used to predict quality at the early breeding stages of DH lines from F2 wheat plants of the crosses Aglika x Kristal and Aglika x Svilena. The investigation was carried out during 2006 – 2007. Each DH line was sown in field in three rows of 2 m, the distance between the rows being 20 cm. Spikes from 20 plants from each DH line were subjected to analysis. The results obtained provided further evidence for the associations of the Glu 1 score with the investigated flour indices. Based on cluster analysis using the Glu score, it was found out that in the dendrograms of the bad clusters in both crosses there were DH lines with wheat-rye translocation 1BL/1RS unfavorable for wheat quality. The most frequent combinations of glutenin subunits by Glu-1 score in the good clusters of DH lines of the cross Aglika x Kristal were: N, 7+9, 5+10, and by Glu-3 score – c, b, c. In the good clusters by Glu-1 score from the cross Aglika x Svilena, the predominant DH lines were with configuration 1, 7+9, 5+10 (Glu-1) e, b, c (Glu-3); 2*, 7+9, 5+10 (Glu-1) e, b, c (Glu-3) and less frequent were the lines with configuration 2*, 7+9, 2+12 (Glu-1); c, b, c (Glu-3). From the total investigated 106 DH lines of the cross Aglika x Kristal, 0.9 % demonstrated high sedimentation, and from the 92 DH lines of the cross Aglika x Svilena – 4.3 %, respectively. The mean values of protein content in grain in the clusters from the two crosses were similar and within the range from 9.9 to 10.6 %, the variation being from 8.4 to 15.6 %, with a higher amplitude in the cross Aglika x Svilena.
